Membership
All residents or property owners in the District of Muskoka are eligible to sign up for a Bracebridge Library card.
Non-residents may purchase a membership for a $50 annual fee or $25 for six months.
When signing up, one piece of photo identification with the applicant’s current address (like a driver’s license, vehicle registration, or utility bill) is required.
Regardless of residence, if a child younger than 14 is signing up for a card, a parent, guardian, or caregiver must accompany them.
Computer and Internet access
Anyone with a valid Bracebridge Library card may use one of the public computers for up to 90 minutes daily.
Guest passes are available at the Information Desk for non-residents.
We do offer faxing out, but unfortunately, we are unable to receive faxes.
Printing, photocopying, and laminating
Printing and photocopying are available at the Bracebridge Library for:
- $0.20 per page for black and white
- $0.30 per page for double-sided black and white
- $0.50 per page for colour
- $1.00 per page for double-sided colour

You will be sent an email with an 8-digit code. When you visit the Coulson Family Bracebridge Library, enter the code at the printing payment kiosk and pay for your printing.
For laminating, you can bring your own material. Otherwise, pouches can be purchased at the Circulation Desk:
- Letter size (8.5 x 11″): $1.00 per page
- Legal size (8.5 x 14″): $1.50 per page
- Tabloid size (11 x 17″): $2.00 per page
One-on-one tech training
The Bracebridge Library offers free one-on-one tech training. Staff can help with most questions, including setting up a new tablet or smartphone, learning how to use spreadsheets, getting started on social media, and more.
Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Exam proctoring
The Bracebridge Library may proctor exams for residents of the District of Muskoka, subject to resource availability and so long as the following conditions are met:
- Examinations must occur during the Bracebridge Library’s regular hours of operation. Library staff will attempt to meet the scheduling needs of the examination taker, but have the final authority when setting the date and time of examinations. Rescheduling of test appointments is subject to the approval of the Chief Librarian and CEO.
- The student is responsible for ensuring that all examination requirements have been met.
- The Bracebridge Library accepts no responsibility for any charges involved in proctoring, such as postal charges and photocopying.
- The Bracebridge Library reserves the right to refuse the request if the student provides inaccurate or incomplete information.
- The Bracebridge Library will not accommodate an exam if the conditions outlined by the institution providing the exam can not be met. The student is responsible for ensuring the library meets the institution’s standards.
- The Bracebridge Library is not liable for any missing items, papers, samples, or other documents related to the exam.
- Anyone requesting exam proctoring who is not a resident of the District of Muskoka or does not hold a valid Bracebridge Library card will be charged a proctoring fee, pending the library’s ability to accommodate the request.

Staff at the Bracebridge Library are more than happy to provide patrons with a customized list of books or movies.
Accessible services
The Bracebridge Library is committed to providing services that are accessible to all patrons.
Visiting Library Service
The Visiting Library Service is a free service for some patrons who may be unable to visit the Bracebridge Library in person.
Patrons may request books, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines, among other materials. They will be delivered to their home at a pre-arranged time.
Staff who help with deliveries are required to undergo a security screening.

Accessible computers
The publicly available computers at the Bracebridge Library are outfitted with equipment to assist those with visual impairments.
Low-vision reading devices
The Bracebridge Library has two DaVinci low-vision reading devices. These devices can magnify, alter color, or read aloud any printed material. They are free to use.
DAISY Readers
Digital Accessible Information System (DAISY) Readers are specialized audio devices that allow those who are blind or partially sighted to navigate through a variety of audiobooks. The Bracebridge Library has two DAISY
Readers available to borrow.
Autism support kits
The kits offered by the Bracebridge Library are designed to provide families with a variety of materials, games, and resources. The creation of these kits was made possible thanks to support from the Friends of the Bracebridge Library.
SMPL Music Player
The SMPL Music Player is designed to be easy-to-use and plays all MP3 files (including audiobooks).
Large print books
Large print titles include a selection of bestsellers, fiction, and non-fiction.

Dyslexia-friendly collection
The Bracebridge Library has a growing collection of dyslexia friendly books.

Audiobooks
Audiobooks are available in multiple formats, including CDs, playaways, and eAudiobooks.
