The Visiting Library Service is a free service for some patrons who may be unable to visit the Bracebridge Library in person.
Patrons may request items such as books, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines, among other materials. They will be delivered to their home at a pre-arranged time.
Staff who help with deliveries are required to undergo a security screening.

Position Summary
The Library Assistant: Programmer is an energetic, creative, and community-minded team player who helps bring innovative programs, services, and experiences to life. This position supports the planning, promotion, delivery, and evaluation of library programming for all ages and encourages new ideas that inspire learning, creativity, and connection throughout the community.
The successful candidate will be passionate about working with people, eager to share their talents and interests, and excited to contribute to a workplace that values creativity, collaboration, and thinking outside the box.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Hours: Full time, permanent. – 35 hours per week, evening & weekend work will be required.
Physical:Requirement for sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and in a field environment; to sit for prolonged periods of time; to routinely lift and move shipments in boxes up to 20 kg.; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to assemble minor furniture acquisitions.
Environment:Work is conducted in an office environment with some exposure to criticism from the public; close proximity to staff-used printer/fax/copier; frequent exposure to paper fibres and dust.
Requirement to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, verbally communicate to exchange information, deal with constant interruptions and changing demands during the course of a working day. Work outside normal working hours may be required occasionally.
Compensation: $28.44 – $33.26 per hour, commensurate with education & experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package and enrollment in the OMERS pension plan.
Occupational Health and Safety awareness training from the Ministry of Labour and WHMIS training will be required. A current criminal record check, with vulnerable sector clearance will also be required for the successful candidate.
