The Youth Crew is for students in Grades 9 to 12 who want to earn volunteer hours or support their local library.

Youth Crew is paused until September.

The Visiting Library Service is a free service for some patrons who may be unable to visit the Bracebridge Library in person.

Patrons may request items such as books, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines, among other materials. They will be delivered to their home at a pre-arranged time.

Staff who help with deliveries are required to undergo a security screening.

April 12 is the International Day of Human Space Flight. It marks the day that the very first person was launched into space. Hundreds of people since then have explored the final frontier, including Canadians like Roberta L. Bondar and Chris Hadfield.

Cool Things to Borrow Collection

Orion Telescope

The Bracebridge Library has a telescope that can be borrowed by an adult with a Bracebridge Library card. Take the telescope home for one week to check out the night sky. The telescope comes with instructions, a flashlight, and a guide to constellations.

Juvenile Non-Fiction Books: Stargazing

Young readers will love to learn about space with these great books! 1,000 Facts About Space by Dean Regas is full of interesting information and even photographs from outer space! The Amazing Night Sky Atlas: The Ultimate Stargazing Guide by Nancy Dickmann has a mix of photos, images, facts, and tips to get young readers started learning about astronomy. Stargazing for Kids: an Introduction to Astronomy by Jonathan Poppele will teach children about the most popular constellations and how to find them!
