Award-Winning Author and Queer Advocate Visiting Bracebridge Library
The Bracebridge Library is proud to welcome acclaimed author, illustrator, and content creator Chris Paul Rainbows (they/them) for an Author Talk on Thursday, August 6.
Paul is an award-winning strategist and queer advocate, known for joyful viral moments. Their advocacy for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth recently earned them the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Paul has built a highly engaged community of nearly 400,000 followers across multiple social media platforms who regularly participate in their storytelling, advocacy, and events.
Paul’s debut picture book, Guinea Pigs Don’t Wear Pants, was released earlier this year. They describe it as “a joyful celebration of gender expression, individuality, and the freedom to be yourself.” The book is written and illustrated by Paul and “celebrates the freedom to express yourself and the beauty of being exactly who you are.”
“Libraries are places where everyone in the community should see themselves reflected,” said Amy Miners, Children and Youth Services Librarian. “Chris Paul Rainbows has helped to make room on the shelf for everyone’s story, and we’re excited to share their message with our community.”
The Author Talk is a drop-in event. No registration is required.
