Seniors Month at the Library
June is Seniors Month and we wanted to make it extra special here at the library. On Thursday, June 23 we had local author Sue Kelley give a talk about her book “Still Sexy After 60!” It was a memorable event that stressed the importance of self-love and self-acceptance as we age. Our ability to feel sensual and powerful should not diminish because we have a few more wrinkles on our faces. Sue was entertaining, empathetic, and above all, empowering! It was a night filled with learning and lots of laughter!
On Wednesday, June 29 we hosted a Seniors Tea that was catered by local business Tea on the 45th. Store owner Marc Baudendistel gave a tutorial on the health benefits and characteristics of white, green, black, and oolong tea. Participants got to sample the different varieties of tea and enjoy a selection of goodies like blueberry scones, and chicken salad sandwiches. This event was a full house and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
