The Youth Advisory Committee was formed to give teens a comfortable place to express their opinions about what the Bracebridge Library is currently doing and what they would like to see the library do in the future.

Committee members gain volunteer hours from participating in the program.

The committee meets every Wednesday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Coulson Family Bracebridge Library.

The Visiting Library Service is a free service for some patrons who may be unable to visit the Bracebridge Library in person.

Patrons may request items such as books, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines, among other materials. They will be delivered to their home at a pre-arranged time.

Staff who help with deliveries are required to undergo a security screening.

ADULT SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

Read, Explore, Celebrate Our History, and Win!

This summer, we invite you to turn the pages of the past and celebrate 150 years of the Town of Bracebridge through stories that inspire, connect, and honour our community’s rich history. Join the 2025 Adult Summer Reading Challenge and be part of the town-wide celebration!

Read eight books in 80 days between Friday, June 13 and Friday, September 5 and be entered to win a fabulous prize basket.

Every book you read helps us mark this special milestone, as we reflect on our roots and imagine the future.

This Year’s Theme: Historical

Since 2025 marks Bracebridge’s 150th birthday, this year’s reading challenge invites you to explore books that connect with history, whether that’s local, national, or global.

From the stories that shaped Muskoka to tales from around the world, there is no better time to reflect on where we have come from and where we are going. You could read a gripping World War II mystery, a sweeping medieval fantasy, an inspiring memoir, a beloved classic novel, a book about the history of Bracebridge or Muskoka, or any book that connects you to the theme of history and heritage.

The library has plenty of books to match your interests, visit us in person or explore our online catalogue.

How Do I Join?

Ready to read? Here is how to get started:

  1. Register in person at the Coulson Family Bracebridge Library or through our website.
  2. Pick up a booklet from the library to track your reading progress, or use Beanstack to track your progress virtually.
  3. Start reading! For every eight books you read, you get one ballot into a draw for a chance to win a prize basket.

Why Should I Join?

Join us in celebrating 150 years of the Town of Bracebridge through the power of the written word!

By taking part in the 2025 Adult Summer Reading Challenge, you will discover new books, authors, & perspectives, reflect on our town’s heritage & community spirit, share the joy of reading with others, and be entered to win a prize basket!

Tell Me More About This “Prize Basket”

Submit your completed booklet to the Library by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5 to be entered into the draw for a prize basket.

It will be packed with goodies for you to enjoy. Stay tuned to find out exactly what you could win!

We do not want to spoil the surprise, but it may include some Muskoka-inspired treats to help you celebrate Bracebridge’s 150th birthday.
